La Passeggiata by Lesley Faelli

Features

ARTIST NOTES: The inspiration for this painting is Mordialloc beach & explores the contrast between the vertical lighting elements with the expanse of sand & sea beyond. The lady & dog represent all the many dogs & owners that enjoy a visit to the bay beaches. We often talk about taking our dog for a passeggiata as he doesn't speak italian & it is an alternative to spelling out w.a.l.k!

ARTIST BIO

I studied Architecture in Western Australia and after graduating moved to Melbourne.  Over the next few years, I attended night classes in art & pottery.  Follwing this, the focus moved to my Architectural career and I have only recently returned to painting; although the years spent on design and drafting have provided a solid foundation for my artwork.  My local environment, travel and nature are all inspirations and subject matter for my oil paintings of landscapes, seascapes and still lifes.  My art journey has been rewarding, with each new painting presenting unique challenges and outcomes.  My aim is to continue with the current themes, incorporating a contemporary element to further works.
