CLAIRE SAYERS CV \r\nFrom an early age I developed an interest in art which was always encouraged and still is, by my artistic mother. I completed my diploma of teaching but realised my true passion was colour. This progressed to studying Studio Textiles/Colour Design and Diploma in Visual Arts. \r\nMy career has grown from allocating what time was available outside of raising two children, to now painting full time from my home studio in Gippsland. Like many artists, I can still feel there are never enough hours in the day to dedicate to my work! \r\nMy art has developed over the years with experimentation in a variety of mediums. A journey that has evolved to a technique of multi-layered, ornamental abstract landscapes and still life on large canvasses. This enables me to capture and translate the beauty of colour, the way nature intended, painting natural images in their most vibrant form. \r\nI believe art should evoke emotion, I attempt to convey uplifting and positive inspiration through my work. \r\nEducation \r\n2002 Advanced Painting - Briagalong School of Art \r\n1997 Diploma of Visual Arts - East Gippsland Institute of Tafe \r\n1993 Studio Textiles/Colour Theory & Design - East Gippsland Institute of Tafe \r\n1988 Diploma of Teaching - Monash University \r\nExhibited \r\nGallery Sorrento – Sorrento \r\nTown and Country Gallery – Yarragon, Victoria \r\nManyung Gallery – Mount Eliza \r\nCustom House Gallery – Melbourne \r\nGardiner Gallery – Melbourne \r\nRed River Designs Gallery – Stratford, Victoria \r\nJulian Ronchi Garden Designs – Armadale \r\nCowwar Art Space – Cowwar, Victoria \r\nSale Regional Gallery – Sale, Victoria \r\nBriagalong School of Fine Art – Briagalong, Victoria \r\nGlen Eira Council Gallery – Melbourne \r\nRelish at the Gallery – Sale, Victoria \r\nBHP Billiton Wellington Entertainment Centre – Sale, Victoria \r\nCamberwell Rotary Art Show \r\nWarragul Rotary Art Show – Highly Commended \r\nSale Rotary Art Show – First Prize Best in Show \r\nContact \r\nwww.clairesayers.com.au |
