Andrea Sinclair is known for two distinctive areas of focus in her work- portraiture and contemporary interpretations of a nostalgic past. She has been a finalist in the Doug Moran National Portrait Prize in 2014 and as a Semi-Finalist in 2015, as well as a finalist three times in the Nillumbik Prize at Montsalvat in Eltham,Victoria. \r\n“Swim” is her current offering of paintings which invites the viewer to submerge themselves in the retelling of summers past with her poetic imagery. This work evokes our own familial images of the past through intriguing handling of the colours of summer. The anonymous faces bring forth memories of association in us and become part of our own stories allowing us to be momentarily transported to a dream-like place. \r\n
